Friday, November 7th: Local author Jesse Bier reads from his new novel Ocho Rios. 6 pm.
Jesse received the Purple Heart in WWII. He’s a University of Montana professor emeritus and has published several books over his career, including the New York Times acclaimed Year of the Cougar. During his career at the University of Montana, Jesse taught both literature and creative writing courses to students such as James Welch, author of Winter in the Blood and Fools Crow. Now, nearing the end of his eighties, he has tackled an existentialist thriller that asks questions about fate and god while taking us on a thrilling ride through 1960’s Jamaica.
